I moved to Austin in 2010 with hopes of elevating the quality of my life and building a like-minded community. With this aim in mind, I began my yoga journey. Though the practice had initially been about the physical benefits, I began to appreciate its spiritual nature when I read the Dalai Lama’s book, An Open Heart. This piqued my interest, so I began my 200 hour teacher training at Dharma Yoga, an Austin based studio founded by Keith Kachtick. Dharma Yoga explores traditional Indian philosophy through the lens of Buddhism. It offered me tools to take a step back from the chaos of life, breathe, and see things from a new perspective.
Yoga continues to foster awareness, compassion, and gratitude in my life, qualities I like to incorporate into my classes. My style is gentle, flowing vinyasa that creates a space to grow, explore, and discover your own passion for yoga, a passion that will keep drawing you back to the mat. Through the practice, I hope you will discover the inner wealth and outer health that yoga can provide.

Committed to our focus on community, Treehouse Yoga features different local artists in our studio throughout the year. This month, we're putting the spotlight on the talented artist Carla J. Clay. Her beautiful art is inspired by nature and sacred geometry. Every piece in our studio is an original and available by donation. Prints are also available. To get in touch with Carla, check out her website.
